Democrats, They have nothing to run on. What can they possibly do?
This is an interesting problem that the Democrats face. What happens when you push for certain ideas that are really not in the best interest of the country and even worse for your own party?
Anyone who had more stamina then me and actually watched the 7 hour climate change debate has my respect. I gave up after I ran out of popcorn (two bowls) nacho cheese with Doritos all washed down with copious amounts of flavored water. Maybe 8 years ago when I could still drink my favorite brand of vodka it would have been possible for me to make the entire show. But times are different now and that is what we want to talk about.
Look at the cartoon and imagine this man in the hot tube casually throwing out a comment about a child abusing billionare and a ex president.
The uncertain start of the Democratic Party to a liberal socialistic party happened sometime between these two presidents.
Somehow I just do not see the connection between not only the party but of the moral code that TR and Wilson set for themselves and those around them.
That bothers me a lot! Just what the hell happened in the short time between 1916 and 1996.
Yes we had for the first time two world wars but did those wars involve the dissolution of morals and the corruption of the national press? Not from what I have read about the amazing bravery that news reporter's of that time period put themselves through. Does the liberal reporting of the Vietnam War stack up to the same standard?
I am not a fan of Dan Rather. I do not share his beliefs as to what actually when on in the US during the 1960's and 1970's. I was in a very select group that actually put together the presidents briefing every Thursday. I knew what we sent down, and I saw on TV what was reported. The disconnect between the government and the public probably started sometime around this time period.
Dan Rather is not a fool, and the following quote from him shows his personal position more than any TV report ever did. Here is where his facts start to become political and not the gritty in depth reporting that we had become seen during WW1, 2 and to some extent the Korean Conflict.
"The one thing that we as a people went through in 1968 that we're going through again now is basically the question, can we hold it together? Can we hold the country together? Can we stand united? Can we agree on enough core principles and core values of the country to hold ourselves together?

To this today from Nancy Pelosi.
You didn't think that Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's recent vilification of Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell was by chance, did you?
It is important to post the next few articles of this article from WND.
Or the New York Times' recent reports reviving misconduct allegations against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, who was appointed by President Trump? Reports which, by the way, left out the key fact that the alleged victim didn't remember the alleged incident.
Or the constant drumbeat of "impeach"?
The newssite Axios has an apparent explanation.
"Democrats plan to portray President Trump, Justice Brett Kavanaugh and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell as the three villains defining the three branches of government for the 2020 campaign."
Axios said "each of these white men, they will argue, symbolizes Republican corruption and rule-bending."
The report said "three targets" had been identified because, "House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has told advisers it's hard to move the public mood on Trump alone — and will urge her caucus to crank up anti-McConnell attacks, Axios' Alayna Treene reports."
At least six 2020 Democratic presidential hopefuls – Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, Cory Booker, Beto O'Rourke and Julián Castro – already are demanding Kavanaugh's impeachment over the Times' story.
"Trump, of course, will be the central target, and several campaigns are trying to follow the Joe Biden/Kamala Harris approach of focusing on the president as much as their rivals," the report said.
The article proved to be false, as most NYT big headline articles are becoming. I am not so much conderned with the NYT as I am with the success of the Democratics in achiving a large part of their goals.
I am going to close out the article because I hope a lot of people will have some input into how we now have the Democratic Party offering nothing in the way of leadership and how to better govern the US to enrich its citizens.
We have the party of nothing!
