DAVID LEE ROTH Shares Original Artwork Inspired By Coronavirus Crisis

Image
June 15, 2020 David Lee Roth   has shared several pieces of original artwork which were inspired by the COVID-19 crisis. For the past two months, the  VAN HALEN  singer has been posting paintings on his  Twitter  account that reflect the times and channel the mass anxiety around the novel coronavirus. You can find them below. This is not the first time  Roth  has shared some of his visual art with the public. Back in 2009,  Roth  released dozens of his own drawings and artwork, which he called at the time "authentic originals and incompetent imitations." He offered them up as "an official answer to the question 'what do you do in your spare time?'" According to the  Van Halen News Desk , the  VAN HALEN  frontman always been into art. Throughout his whole life, while touring the world, you could find him doodling on just about anything — setlists, tour riders, female body parts, etc. He was always a major part of the visual side...

Stanley Kubrick: A Flawed Genius

Stanley Kubrick trying his best...to look like a camera In between the Golden Age of Hollywood that ended in the late 50's and the New Hollywood that began in the early 70's, to me, one director stands out: Stanley Kubrick. Kubrick was the creative force behind many of the most significant and iconic films ever made, and to this day, his work is closely studied in film schools and discussed elsewhere worldwide. A jack-of-all-trades and a master of most, Kubrick directed, wrote or co-wrote, and produced the majority of his films, most of which even the most casual movie-goer has seen, or at least heard of. THE VAMPIRE JESUS FRIDAY NIGHT MOVIE! TONIGHT'S FEATURE: THX 1138 (1971)

Image
Tonight's feature was suggested by DTX; I've seen it before, and it is a very strange movie, though interesting. THX 1138 is a 1971 American social science fiction film directed by George Lucas in his feature film directorial debut. It is set in a dystopian future in which the populace is controlled through android police and mandatory use of drugs that suppress emotions. Produced by Francis Ford Coppola and written by Lucas and Walter Murch, it stars Robert Duvall and Donald Pleasence. In the future, sexual intercourse and reproduction are prohibited, whereas the use of mind-altering drugs is mandatory to enforce compliance among the citizens and to ensure their ability to conduct dangerous and demanding tasks. Emotions and the concept of family are taboo. Everyone is clad in identical white uniforms and has shaven heads to emphasize uniformity, except the police androids (who wear black) and robed monks. Instead of names, people have designations with three arbitrary let...

THE ARTWORK OF ADOLF HITLER

Image
Advocate Nurse posted this video on another site and it was so good I figured I'd post it here. I've seen some of Hitler's artwork before, but not these pieces. I truly think the man was a talented artist; I wonder what would have happened if he had pursued an art career, rather than a career of conquest and slaughtering people by the boatload. On a tangent - Joseph Stalin was also a talented artist, and a poet. Here is Hitler's painting of the Madonna and Child: I, for one, think it is a very good painting. My daughters are artists too; they must get their talent from the wife or my mother, 'cause I cannot draw you a credible stick man, but I can write you a mean book! Anyway, I have put this up for folks to see the man's artwork, so please keep the political remarks to a minimum. Hitler is long dead - just look at his pictures, for he is not here to harangue - carry on... LINK TO VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mALbFREo-bk
