DARK RESURRECTION, CHAPTER TWENTY: THE MIRACLE

Image
This is the last chapter of a story that I wrote twenty years ago. I was told it was good, but alas, it never sold. That's why I give it away; I have notes for other sequels to Dark Resurrection, but I reckon those will go unwritten, as I am not in the habit of wasting effort on unproductive pursuits. I thank you for reading, and hope that those who read enjoyed the story.

DARK RESURRECTION, CHAPTER SIXTEEN: EPES

Image
Here is Chapter Sixteen. I will be here intermittently as I have very pressing personal issues that I must deal with. The situation is not related to my person; I would be more specific but there are some very mentally ill people on Disqus, which reflects the growing insanity of this dying nation. I am fairly certain that many here are already aware of that and of the individuals so inclined.

DARK RESURRECTION, CHAPTER TEN: THE WEST ROAD

Image
The following chapters, starting with Chapter Ten, have never been published in print or electronic form; the only tangible copy is the rough manuscript at the Library of Congress, languishing there since 2003. In the original Dark Resurrection, there were twenty chapters with a total page count of over 900.

INTERMISSION BEFORE CHAPTER TEN and RANDOM POST!

Image
Greetings from everyone's favorite vampire. I will be posting Dark Resurrection, Chapter Ten: The West Road in around a week, it was originally part of the first book and I have reintegrated it. Hopefully the prose is not too rough; I have not read nor done any work to the remaining chapters in nine years. I have given it a cursory reread and have made some minor corrections, but being one's own editor is a tough row to hoe. Please feel free to critique, and point out any errors in grammar, spelling and so forth; if there is something you don't like, perhaps it should be changed.  Or - make a random post - but keep it PG rated; thanks. Anyway, this section of the book deals with Jesus and the Magdalene's trip to Rome, with the vampiric pair plying the highways at night, slaughtering thieves, highwaymen, thugs and other vermin as they go, filling their bodies with warm blood and their bags with cold metallic currency. The objective for the trip is to establish citizenshi...

Musings, regarding the book and other items...

Hello! I will be putting up chapter four of Dark Resurrection in a few days, and perhaps a few movies later on; I've been rather busy as of late. I have been editing and recombining the chapters of Dark Resurrection II into the first book, which will then be as I originally wrote it in 2003.  After chapter nine there will be new material posted that no one here has ever read, and it will serve to explain two points that several people have mentioned regarding the story, i.e., Jesus' propensity for referring to Mary Magdalene as "woman"  in the story, and Jesus' "vampiric accent".  Regarding the first item, anyone who is familiar with the King James or Douay versions of the New Testament will recall that Jesus referred to her, and to his own mother - as "woman" in the gospel of John. As far as the "vampiric accent" angle is concerned, the reader will have to wait until I post chapter twelve of the recombined work. It is explained to th...

Announcement

I have decided to re-run the book before I put up the sequel, which used to be the second half of the original manuscript of Dark Resurrection, otherwise known as "The Jesus Chronicles: The Truth About Easter". The manuscript ran to nearly 900 pages when I finished it.  I quickly learned that novels are not supposed to read like short stories, and that I had created an unreadable Frankenstein, as I was informed by one early reader.  I split the book and edited the hell out of it before making agent queries and submissions for nearly five years, which turned out to be a waste of my time. Since some folks here like my idiotic screeds, I figure I'll put it up here. Dekota Rain had asked for the sequel to be put up a good while back, so I am finally making good on my promise. If you are interested, please look for chapter one of Dark Resurrection tomorrow, and the rest will follow over a few weeks. The sequel is somewhat rough; I did not have any time to do further editing af...
