Donald Trump got some really bad news about the next debate moderator
The first Presidential debate was marred by Chris Wallace’s biased and pro-Joe Biden debate moderating.
Things are not looking any better for the President heading into the second faceoff with former Vice President Joe Biden.
That’s because Donald Trump just got some really bad news about the next debate moderator.
CSPAN’s Steve Scully is scheduled to moderate the town hall debate between Biden and Trump.
The Trump campaign is already skeptical of Scully given that Scully got his start in politics by interning for Joe Biden.
Those concerns grew into four alarm fires when a tweet appeared on Scully’s account asking Trump critic Anthony Scaramucci how to respond to the President.
“@Scaramucci should I respond to trump,” Scully tweeted.
White House Deputy Communications Director Brian Morgenstern ripped the Commission on Presidential Debates for selecting another Trump-hating moderator.
“Now their chosen moderator certainly seems not to be very impartial,” Morgenstern told Fox News. “The first one. Susan Page, of course, is writing the glowing biography of Speaker Pelosi and now Mr. Scully, who interned for Joe Biden, now colluding to use the word the Democrats love with the Mooche, who, you know, I love The Mooche, but he’s gone way off the deep end. He is a wild-eyed critic of the president at this point. And now to have a debate moderator seeking his advice. I think the cat’s out of the bag. I don’t think Mr. Scully is impartial. So that really calls into question, again, the debate commission’s judgment here.”
It was obvious to all that Scully was trying to direct message Scaramucci.
But appearing on Brian Kilmeade’s radio show commission head Frank Fahrenkopf laughably claimed Scully’s Twitter account was hacked.
“Steve is a man of great integrity, okay?” Fahrenkopf stated. “I don’t know this question about whether he tweeted something out or not, I do know, and you’ll probably pick up on it in a minute, that he was hacked . . . Apparently, there’s something now that’s been on television and the radio saying that he talked to Scaramucci . . . He was hacked. It didn’t happen”
Scully’s claim that his account was hacked doesn’t pass the smell test.
The only solution to this situation is to remove Scully as a moderator from the debate.
