Image
GHOST SHIP is a 2002 horror film directed by Steve Beck, and starring an ensemble cast featuring Gabriel Byrne, Julianna Margulies, Ron Eldard, Desmond Harrington, Isaiah Washington and Karl Urban. The film follows a marine salvage crew in the Bering Sea who discover a mysterious ocean liner that disappeared in 1962. The film was shot in Queensland, Australia and Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and released theatrically in North America on October 25, 2002. It received largely negative reviews from critics. It earned in excess of $68 million in box office receipts worldwide. And that evidently proves that the "critics" don't know what the fuck they are talking about. This is another one of my recommended "must see" movies. Anything directed by Hitchcock is superb, and anything with James Stewart is icing on the cake, not to mention the eye candy that Grace Kelly was.

RANDOM THREAD - AND COMMENTARY!

Image
Greetings and felicitations from everyone's favorite vampire. This post is for RANDOM posts and/or remarks regarding the commentary below. Feel free to post photos, memes, music, and so forth, but keep them tasteful, thanks. The First Amendment of the United States Constitution states that American Citizens have the right to freedom of religion, of speech and of assembly.  Here is the text for reference: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." It is further implied that people have the right to freedom of association, as determined in NAACP v. Alabama, 357 U.S. 449 (1958). That said, it therefore follows that, regardless of the opinions or disdain of others, people have the right to be bigots, prejudiced, or "racists" - th...

Brutha Jussie and Hate Crime Hoaxes

Image
Brutha Jussie and his partners in crime and slime A couple of years ago when I first read the bare details of that vicious, racist, sexist, anti-Semitic, homophobic attack on triple-Z-list black fag actor Jussie Smollett, I laughed out loud. OK, let me get this straight....soooo, two white MAGA-hooting Trump goons decided to go out at 2 in the morning during a brutally cold Chicago winter to decorate and pour some sort of liquid on Jussie's harassed and oppressed black and cum-receiving ass. OK, I can see that, as the freaks do come out at night, and one never knows what kind of smelly and semi-frozen creatures can appear out of nowhere, whether to peacefully bum some change or violently take your life. However, when I read how he managed to resist his attackers while having a cell phone conversation, the eyebrows were raised. It got better and better. Despite getting jumped by two assailants, he not only held on to his cell phone, but a sandwich from Subway, too! It mus...

The Joys of Jury Duty

Image
There are at least two places you can go to that puts you fully in touch with your communities; the DMV, and jury duty. Of the two, I’d say that jury duty gets you much closer, because that includes all of the retards and patricians that are either too stupid and fucked-up to legally drive, or those too rich and stratospheric to even bother with such a menial task. Little known fact: Outside of medical reasons, only active-duty military personnel and active-duty police officers are exempt from jury duty. All others must serve at some point, so it is relatively rare to be among such a broad cross-section of the various layers of sanity and insanity that makes us well, us.

PRESENTING MY REDACTED JURY SUMMONS LETTER FROM YEARS AGO

Image
This is a redacted copy of the jury summons letter that I mailed certified to the authorities years back when they had the unmitigated GALL to "order" me to serve on a jury. Even if they had asked politely I would been forced to decline, as I am so jaded and untrusting that I wouldn't believe god itself if such a being appeared to me on a winged horse. Any reader may feel free to copy and use my text as a template for your own letter if you like, though I do retain copyright for any and all of my work. Some Infamous Guns of History

Image
Assassinations of national leaders and other high-ranking politicians and celebrities are not only history-making events, they are also history-changing ones as well. We can only speculate at what history would have looked like had these public figures had not been murdered, but for better or for worse, history was definitely altered. Here’s a list of the weapons used in some of the more infamous history-altering public and/or political killings (the official versions anyway); the photos are of the actual weapons used: Wogdon .544 dueling pistols - These pistols were used by Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton during their famous duel on July 11, 1804, which resulted in Hamilton's death.   Philadelphia .41 Derringer - Used by John Wilkes Booth to kill Abraham Lincoln on April 14, 1865. Bulldog .44 revolver - Used by Charles Guiteau on President James Garfield on July 2, 1881.   Iver Johnson .32 revolver – Used by Leon Czolgosz ...
