Hunter Biden Case Will Be Sent To Department Of Justice
Hunter Biden’s daddy is not the Vice President of the United States anymore and his time to pay the piper is drawing close.
Appearing on the Fox News show “The Story,” Republican Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul said the Senate Homeland Security and Finance Committees’ report on Hunter Biden’s overseas business deals will be referred to the Department of Justice as a criminal referral next week, Fox News reported.
“I think riding on Air Force Two and doing business is illegal … and probably a felony,” he said to host Martha MacCallum. “I think it’s illegal to take money from a Russian politician’s wife, $3.5 million, was it reported accurately?”
Paul was referencing items from the new report which details Hunter Biden’s role on the board of Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings and his alleged “extensive and complex financial transactions.”
The Senate committees revealed that they had obtained records that “show potential criminal activity relating to transactions among and between Hunter Biden, his family, and his associates with Ukrainian, Russian, Kazakh and Chinese nationals.
Biden, his associates and some foreign individuals were found by investigators to have had millions of dollars in “questionable financial transactions” that included the wife of the former Moscow mayor and others who had ties to the Chinese Communist Party.
“I think the only way to determine the actual legality of this is to have it referred to the Department of Justice,” the senator, who is a member of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, said, “so I’m gonna send the report over tomorrow. I don’t know if the whole committee will vote for it but … we are asking for a criminal referral.”
He said that he wants to see “a criminal investigation that’s justified.”
“Here is this evidence, look at it, and then you as the lawyers for the government decide if you have enough to prosecute,” the senator said, “but I think we should refer this for a criminal investigation.”
The report, which was 87 pages, said that the Obama administration officials were aware of the fact that Hunter Biden’s job on the Burisma board was “problematic” and that it caused interference “in the efficient execution of policy with respect to Ukraine.”
“This investigation has illustrated the extent to which officials within the Obama administration ignored the glaring warning signs when the vice president’s son joined the board of a company owned by a corrupt Ukrainian oligarch,” it said.
“Even though Hunter Biden’s position on Burisma’s board cast a shadow over the work of those advancing anticorruption reforms in Ukraine, the Committees are only aware of two individuals who raised concerns to their superiors,” the report said. “Despite the efforts of these individuals, their concerns appear to have fallen on deaf ears.”
But the biggest bombshell of the report said it received records that Hunter Biden “sent thousands of dollars” to individuals who have “either been involved in transactions consistent with possible human trafficking; an association with the adult entertainment industry; or potential association with prostitution.”
“Some recipients of those funds are Ukrainian or Russian citizens,” it said. “The records note that it is a documented fact that Hunter Biden has sent funds to non-resident alien women in the United States who are citizens of Russia and Ukraine and who have subsequently wired funds they have received from Hunter Biden to individuals located in Russia and Ukraine.”
“The records also note that some of these transactions are linked to what ‘appears to be an Eastern European prostitution or human trafficking ring,’” it said.
