LANDING SPOT FRIDAY MOVIE - TONIGHT'S FEATURE: THE FUGITIVE (1993)

Image
THE FUGITIVE is a 1993 American action thriller film based on the 1960s television series of the same name created by Roy Huggins. It was directed by Andrew Davis and stars Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones, with supporting roles by Sela Ward, Joe Pantoliano, Andreas Katsulas, and Jeroen Krabbé. After being wrongfully convicted for the murder of his wife and unjustly sentenced to death, Dr. Richard Kimble (Ford) escapes from custody (after a bus-train wreck) and sets out to find his wife's killer, catch him, and clear his name, while being pursued by a team of United States Marshals led by Deputy U.S. Marshal Samuel Gerard (Jones).  Dr. Richard Kimble, a prominent Chicago vascular surgeon, arrives home to find his wife Helen fatally wounded by a one-armed man. Kimble struggles with the killer but he escapes. The lack of evidence of a break-in, Helen's lucrative life insurance policy, and a misunderstood 9-1-1 call result in Kimble's wrongful conviction of first-degree mu...

Die 007, Die!

Ian Fleming's James Bond Thanks to the tragedy of the current pandemic and the miracle of modern technology, I’ve been watching a lot of old and new shows, with The Prisoner being the next candidate for binge-watching. Among the myriad choices is another long-running franchise brought to us by EON (Everything Or Nothing) Productions and many others and starring the baddest-assed Straight White Anglo Saxon Male this side of where the planet Krypton used to be: James Bond, MI6 Agent 007. A few years ago a friend asked what I did over the weekend, and I made a confession of sorts. I admitted that I watched a bunch of movies; the kind that I don't normally watch, but once I watched the first, I got hooked and watched several more. She looked on with an increasingly disturbed expression forming as I continued; movies that are made primarily for men, although some women are known to enjoy them; men run the show and have all the power and all of the fun, while women ar...

NEIGHBORS is a 1981 American Black comedy based on the novel of the same name by Thomas Berger. It was released through Columbia Pictures, was directed by John G. Avildsen, and stars John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Cathy Moriarty, and Kathryn Walker.  Earl Keese is a low-key, ineffectual, middle-class suburbanite with a wife, Enid, and a teenage daughter, Elaine. Earl's peaceful, dreary life changes when a younger couple, Vic and Ramona, move in next door. Upon arrival, the new neighbors immediately impose themselves on the Keese household, leaving Earl infuriated with the loud, gung-ho Vic, and flustered by the sly and seductive Ramona.  LINK TO MOVIE: https://ok.ru/video/24191568450

THREE NO-SEW DIY FACE MASKS DESIGNS

Image
I made the middle version this morning and it came out pretty good. I'd recommend the middle version for a large adult head, using large opening "thick" elastic hair bands and also pre-stretching the hair bands around a soup can before using. The bottom mask is good for a child or smaller adult heads. Hair bands do come in different styles and sizes, so check before buying. Also I recommend washing the bananas first with fabric softener, and drying them in a dryer to shrink the fibers, then ironing them before making the face mask. One could cut out a filter from a high efficiency A/C filter or vacuum cleaner bag, and stick it inside the mask for extra filtration. The mask cost $2.99 per bandanna picked up at a local gas station, and $3.49 for 10 hairbands (5 pairs) from a local drugstore. A high efficiency A/C filter is about $8.00 and I'd say at least ten filters can be cut from an 18" x 18" A/C filter. Polyester hydro knit towels are another ...
