Members of Congress demanded accountability for the death and carnage involving 13 U.S. troops that Biden’s poorly executed plan resulted in.
And a key senator just suggested using this military arrest to remove Joe Biden.
Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville told a local radio station that he did not believe removing Joe Biden via the 25th Amendment or impeachment were worthwhile endeavors over the needless deaths of 12 Marines and one Navy corpsman in an ISIS-K suicide bombing.
With Biden loyalists populating the Cabinet as well as Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer running Congress, the chance of successfully booting Biden from office were somewhere between slim and none.
Instead, Tuberville told 106.5FM in Mobile, Alabama that Biden should face court-martial since it was Biden’s poorly conceived withdrawal plan that placed the troops in harm’s way and led to their deaths.
“It’s all about leadership,” Tuberville stated. “You know that. I’ve always told you that. Being in any position where you make decisions is about leadership, and it’s about listening to people. You alone can’t make that decision yourself. You have to lean on people who know a lot more about it than you. I know just by hearing that, a lot of these generals said, let’s do not leave Bagram Airbase until we get everybody out. But for some reason, this president, and him alone, made the decision to come out. And there’s going to be people hollering for 25th Amendment and impeachment. We don’t need to get in those weeds. If we go anywhere, somebody needs to be court-martialed over this because we’ve got people killed that did not have to die.”
Tuberville added that the U.S. retreated on August 31 – and abandoned an unknown number of Americans behind enemy lines – because the Taliban demanded Joe Biden stick to his politically motivated withdrawal date.
“But this was — we were retreating instead of withdrawing. This should have been a withdrawal on our terms, not retreating on the Taliban’s terms,” Tuberville added.
A recent Rasmussen poll found 52 percent of Americans believed Joe Biden should step down over his bungling in Afghanistan.
Biden’s political standing began to crumble when it became clear Biden and the generals lied to the public about the Afghan army’s ability to fight off a Taliban takeover.
The Taliban seized the country in about 10 days and Americans saw images of Afghans plunging to their deaths after falling off American airplanes in midair.
Biden ordered 6,000 troops back to the Kabul airport to evacuate thousands of Americans that Biden stranded after pulling out the military and apparently knowing the Afghan army’s effort to beat back the Taliban was failing.
The terrorist attack killing U.S. troops opened the floodgates of Republicans calling for impeachment, resignation and removal by the 25th Amendment.
But Tommy Tuberville went a step further and called for a court-martial.
