MTG tweets Seussian rhyme calling for Biden’s impeachment
- 2021
Amid the cultural uproar over the “cancellation” of beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss, Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene jumped in on the conversation by tweeting a Dr. Seuss-like rhyme Thursday urging her support to impeach President Joe Biden.
Greene, who was recently removed from House committee duties for past support of conspiracy theories, tweeted the words following six Dr. Seuss books being removed from publication after alleged racist overtones.
She rhymed, “I do not like your mental haze, I do not like your leftist ways. I do not like your son on blow, I do not like you Mr. Joe.” Greene’s rhyme was accompanied by the hashtag “impeach Biden.”
The tweet has currently garnered 2,611 retweets and 9,597 likes.
Greene’s attacks highlight observations of President Biden’s cognitive decline, as he has often stumbled during speeches and has held view public speeches. His leftist ways target the radical policies Biden has promoted, largely through executive actions.
The congresswoman’s attack on Hunter Biden, the son of President Biden, touches on the allegations of drug use circulating in public media. Her, “I do not like you Mr. Joe,” further connects with Greene’s hopes to impeach the president, though there is little momentum in Congress for doing so.
Some Republicans have embraced the Dr. Seuss controversy as a free speech issue. Many Americans are simply shaking their heads at the beloved children’s author becoming another casualty of the left’s cancel culture.
In contrast with many mainstream voices, the New York Public Library reported this week it will not remove or censor any of the six controversial Dr. Seuss books. Library spokeswoman Angela Montefinise stated, “As with all public libraries the New York Public Library does not censor books.”
Makes you want to visit the New York Public Library, doesn’t it?
Even many who oppose Greene will find the humor in her Dr. Seuss-inspired post. Perhaps the children’s author can help bring some real unity to the nation after all.
