From the minute Joe Biden entered the White House, the southern border was a concern. Many border officials and southern state leaders were worried that Biden would erase Trump’s stricter policies.
And that’s exactly what happened. Now, more than six months later, DHS statistics show surges in foreign travelers crossing the border and record encounters for law enforcement.
This has resulted in a first-ever legal action—and it’s one the President can’t ignore.
Border officials have been begging Washington for assistance, and they’ve reportedly received very little help. As a result, other states have volunteered to send law enforcement personnel to the border.
Many say ditching Trump’s border policies was a big mistake. And we’re now seeing the results of that mistake in the form of disturbing migration numbers across the board.
But the Biden administration’s lax approach might be more than just political. It might be against the law.
That’s what ICE officers and local sheriffs believe, and they’ve had enough.

For the first time ever, local sheriffs have teamed up with federal ICE officers to sue a president and his Department of Homeland Security.
Thursday, at the federal district courthouse in Galveston, Texas, a lawsuit was filed by a group of Texas sheriffs and counties, along with an association of ICE officers, against President Biden and the leadership of the Department of Homeland Security.
This extraordinary action was driven by the extraordinary consequences of Biden’s immigration policies.
The crux of the case hinges on one point:
ICE officials and sheriffs claim the Biden administration “willfully violated three different federal statutes.”
These statues require that unregistered foreigners must be detained and removed from the United States. Back on February 18, boss Alejandro Mayorkas issued an order that effectively prevented this from happening.
But the plaintiffs claims this violates federal law.
The complaint ads that ICE officers have asked for permission to nab dangerous undocumented individuals, but have been refused by their superiors due to Biden’s new policies.
The crimes in question are severe, too: they include everything from rape to various forms of assault and drug dealing.
On top of this, law enforcement says these dangerous people “are now going straight from prison to the general public.”
Prior to these events and this administration, unregistered individuals who have been convicted of crimes in the U.S. and completed their jail sentence would’ve been deported immediately.
But now, the Biden admin is apparently refusing to deport most of them. And they’re being released into our streets.
All of this has only added fuel to the border crisis fire, and further endangered the lives of American citizens. That’s what the lawsuit claims, and the plaintiffs demand a nationwide injunction.
Basically, they want the courts to say the Biden administration must follow federal law, so border officials and law enforcement can actually do their jobs.
It seems evident that something must be done, as the issue continues to spiral out of control. And we’re not seeing much – if any – movement on this from the White House.
